Dr. Meagan Hanney is a 2022 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where she received her degree as a DMD. For her undergraduate degree, Dr. Hanney attended Eureka College where she majored in Chemistry and minored in Psychology. She graduated in 2018 with Honors. Dr. Hanney is a current member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Hanney initially became interested in dentistry when she had braces in the 7th grade. She found it fascinating how the teeth aligned with wire and bracket placement and enjoyed observing the tools used during her appointments. It was also around this time that she began developing more of an interest in science at school and it quickly became her favorite subject. As she continued to learn more about dentistry through job shadowing, she admired the contributions dentists make to improve their patients’ overall health and help them achieve confidence through a healthy smile.
While not serving patients, Dr. Hanney enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, traveling, and being outdoors.
