An Explanation of the Different Types of Fluoride

What is fluoride and why do our dentists always want to encourage us to use it? Let first examine where fluoride originated; fluoride is a mineral, which is naturally found in water. Does the type of fluoride matter?

When used systemically, the become part of the forming teeth and are ingested. It also goes into your saliva, giving further constant protection to your teeth. Topical fluorides come in toothpaste, gels, mouthwashes, as well as professionally applied methods.
